In 2025, Sea Notes is especially honored to expand this tradition by awarding three scholarships. For the second consecutive year, the Tom and Ann Reese Foundation generously funded an additional award. We are also grateful to Mr. Timothy Kuhn, whose contribution made a third scholarship possible.
Mr. and Mrs. Reese, along with Mr. Kuhn, encourage all supporters of Sea Notes and the arts to consider similar contributions in the future.
Meet Our 2025 Scholarship Recipients
Isabel Siep (WBHS)
Isabel will attend the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where she plans to major in Business/Finance with a minor in Music. A well-rounded student, she participated in four years of varsity tennis and soccer, as well as marching and concert band, where she also served as band librarian. Isabel has tutored elementary students in reading and math, taken part in Veterans Day festivities and Science Olympiad, and is a member of the National Honor Society.
Emma Yando (WBHS)
Emma will attend North Carolina State University, majoring in International Studies and Communications. She has studied voice privately for ten years and also plays the trumpet. Emma has performed in musical theater with the Theater of the Republic in Conway, SC, and Myrtle Beach ACT. She plans to continue pursuing her passion for musical theater.
Kendall Casper (NBHS)
Kendall will attend the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he plans to major in Music Education. He has played the clarinet for seven years and has been an active member of both marching and concert bands. This past year, Kendall served as drum major at North, where he developed an engaging “show style” routine enjoyed by audiences at games and competitions. He has also performed with the Wilmington Winds and the Brunswick Winds.
